Canelo Alvarez tells UFC’s Jorge Masvidal he has no business in boxing after call-out
- Boxing icon says a fight with MMA star is ‘attractive’ but not a challenge or his priority
- ‘It’s for the money, nothing else … they started thinking about boxing when?’
It looks like Jorge Masvidal’s appeals for a mega-money boxing bout against Canelo Alvarez will be falling on deaf ears.
“Gamebred” called out the three-weight boxing world champion after beating Nate Diaz for the “BMF” title in the main event of UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden on November 2.
The 35-year-old Masvidal doubled down on his claims that he could hang with Canelo in a boxing ring, saying he would “sleep” him and is “10 times the athlete”.
“With all due respect, I’ve always thought that if I get into your sport I have nothing to do, right? I think the same, they get into boxing and they have nothing to do,” Alvarez told Little Giant Boxing earlier this week, however.
“But I see it as business. It’s attractive but it’s not a challenge for me. It’s not my priority.”
