Nate Diaz tells UFC ‘don’t play me’ as he warns Jorge Masvidal: ‘I’m coming for you’
- Diaz thinks Masvidal is a ‘real fighter’ and will want to run it back after doctor stops ‘BMF’ title fight
- ‘But I know how this game works, I can already see it coming,’ says Diaz, who fears UFC will deny him a rematch
Nate Diaz and the UFC have never had a straightforward relationship. And he’s fearing some more foul play from the organisation’s matchmakers.
The Stockton, California native lost Saturday night’s “BMF” title fight against Jorge Masvidal after a medical stoppage before the fourth round started. The cage-side doctor ruled he should not continue because of a nasty cut above his right eye.
“It doesn’t make it official, right? If someone else decided the fight was over, I don’t feel too bad a** [expletive] about that fight,” Diaz said at the post-event press conference.
“He deserves everything he gets, he’s a great fighter, right on for him. He’s been around a long time. Jorge Masvidal, I’m coming for you. That’s my plan from here on out.”
But Diaz expressed his belief that the UFC will not let him rematch Masvidal, despite both fighters calling for them to do it all over again.
