Sage Northcutt’s six-year career with ONE Championship has come to an end after a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.

“ONE Championship and Sage Northcutt have mutually agreed to his release from the organisation,” a statement from the promotion read. “ONE wishes Northcutt the best in his future endeavours.”
Northcutt’s ONE Championship career got off to a terrible start in 2019, when he was knocked out after just 28 seconds by Cosmo Alexandre and suffered eight facial fractures. It took four years for him to fight again.
Before joining, he had been a poster boy for the UFC during his eight-fight stint with the promotion. In a three-year spell, competing on the American promotion’s cards, he registered eight wins.
At one point, Northcutt’s stock was so high that he was handed a spot on the historic UFC 200 card, alongside MMA luminaries such as Brock Lesnar, Anderson Silva and Daniel Cormier.
