ONE Championship, Gladiator star Russell Crowe to collaborate on new film The Beast In Me
Oscar-winner to star in movie about ex-MMA fighter who gets back in the ring to avenge brother’s death
Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe will team up with ONE Championship for his next film project The Beast In Me, with live action sequences filmed at the promotion’s Friday night event on January 24.
Daniel MacPherson, of Land of Bad and Foundation fame, stars as an ex-MMA fighter struggling to make ends meet who decides to come out of retirement following the death of his brother in the ring.
With the help of a veteran trainer, played by Crowe, he returns to ONE Championship in a bid to avenge his brother’s death.
Production is pencilled in to begin later in 2024 and filming will take place, among other locations, in Bangkok.
Some of the footage will be filmed during a ONE Friday Night Fights event early next year at the Impact Arena in the Thai capital, while the promotion’s CEO, Chatri Sityodtong is also expected to appear in the movie.
“I am thrilled to be partnering with the star-studded cast and production team behind The Beast In Me,” ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said. “I am confident ONE is the best platform to help tell their story of grit, perseverance, and determination.
