ONE Championship: Adrian Lee was ‘really nervous’ during debut, despite submission win
Hailing from a famous family within the promotion, there was a lot of attention on the 18-year-old lightweight’s first fight.
Adrian Lee said he felt “really nervous” on his ONE Championship debut, despite securing the victory over Antonio Mammarella at ONE 167 in June.
Hailing from a famous family within the promotion, there was a lot of attention on the 18-year-old lightweight’s first fight.
His siblings Angela, Christian and Victoria have all won titles at ONE Championship and, despite Adrian having accompanied them to fights in the past, it did not compare to actually getting into the ring.
“It was definitely something I’ve never experienced before,” he said. “I’ve been to my siblings’ fights so many times, but being the one in the middle, it’s really something so different. I was really nervous.”
Lee won the fight thanks to a submission with a rear naked chokehold in round two ending the bout.
And he said it is in his blood to look to end the contest as early as he can.
