Superlek Kiatmoo9 said fighting Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168 is nothing special and that there are many more difficult fights than facing the double world champion.
Haggerty holds the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing belts and was previously a world champion in the Flyweight Muay Thai division.
He faces Superlek in the main event in Denver’s Ball Arena on September 6 but the Thai fighter is not impressed by his coming opponent.
“There are many fighters who are more difficult to fight than Haggerty,” Superlek told The Post. “For example, technical fighters like Panpayak [Jitmuangnon] are tricky and hard to fight because they are very skilled at creating difficult situations in the ring.
“However, with Haggerty, I feel like I can read him and understand his patterns better than those other fighters.

“It’s not that he isn’t good, but I’ve studied him and I can figure out his style more easily compared to others.”
They met in the United Kingdom in 2018 with Superlek overcoming the hometown hero, but the stakes are higher in their rematch.
ONE 168 is only the second promotion ONE Championship have held in the United States.
Many of the fighters are already in Denver to acclimatise with altitude as the Ball Arena is 5,280 feet (1,609 metres) above sea level.
However, Superlek has previously visited the city and does not believe the altitude will affect his performance.
“I’m fully prepared and ready to fight and I’ll arrive on September 1,” Superlek said. “I’ve been to Denver before for seminars and training.
“This is my first time fighting there but honestly, I’m not too worried about it (the altitude). Many people have mentioned the altitude and how it can make you tired more quickly but we’ve adjusted our training to prepare for this so I’m confident in my preparation.”
The last time the two shared a ring, the fight lasted only two rounds as the ringside doctor called it off during the break before the third because the English fighter had been cut by an elbow.
And Superlek is hoping to once again seal a quick victory.
“Personally, I’d like to finish the fight early, and I know Haggerty probably feels the same way,” Superlek said. “However, it’s hard to say because there are many factors at play.
“I feel stronger with the weight increase, so there’s a chance it could end early, but it’s difficult to predict. It might not go the full five rounds.”
