It looks set to be the first of the night in Denver on September 6, which will be the promotion’s second event in the city. Zakirov brings a very impressive 12-0 record and is coming off a stoppage win over Ryosuke Honda at ONE Friday Fights 54 earlier this year.

Last year, he beat Zayundin Suleymanov at ONE Friday Fights 42 and David Bangguigui at ONE Friday Fights 28. The Uzbek fighter will have an opportunity to break into the top five for the first time when he faces No 4-ranked Minowa.

The Japanese fighter was the reigning Shooto strawweight champion when he signed with ONE Championship in 2020. He won his first two fights for the promotion, beating former champion Alex Silva and top contender Lito Adiwang.

He then suffered three straight decision defeats which all came at the hands of the division’s elite. Minowa rebounded with a win over Jeremy Miado at ONE Fight Night 24 with all of his recent fights having gone the distance.
