Hong Kong’s Tiffany Chan shoots incredible 64 in first round of Thornberry Classic to share 4th spot

The 25-year-old, who has hit on some of her best form as a professional in the past few weeks, signed for a faultless opening with eight birdies on her way to her best round as a professional.
Her day one showing was good enough for a share of fourth place at the notoriously low-scoring US$2 million Green Bay event, but Chan admitted later that she will need to maintain her solid form over the 72 holes to stand any chance of taking a first Tour title.
“Coming to the course that you know there is a lot of birdie opportunities out there, you just know you have to make birdies in order to be up there or even to make the cut,” Chan told Green Bay Press Gazette. “So when it comes to easier courses, it’s actually tougher because if you can do it, everyone can do it. You have to make every shot one shot at a time and just try to make more birdies out there.”
Last year, South Korean Kim Sey-young claimed the title after finishing an astonishing 31-under-par to claim victory by nine strokes.
