Veteran shuttler Lin Dan hinted he might take part in another Olympic Games after clinching a historic fourth consecutive gold medal at the National Games on Friday.

Lin, who will turn 34 next month, cruised to a 2-0 (21-12, 21-13) victory over world number three Shi Yuqi in the singles final in Tianjin, his fourth gold medal since the 2005 Games in Jiangsu.
And the two-time Olympic gold medallist said soon after his victory that he might go for the Tokyo Games in three years’ time.
“I hope I can hang in there and take part in the Tokyo Olympic Games,” said Lin, who went through probably his most hectic schedule after playing 16 matches in two weeks.
Lin, who is 34 next month, has played 16 matches in two weeks.
“But it would be more realistic at this stage if I can to do well in my yearly competition plan and adjust my form to the best during training.”

Lin was in Glasgow in late August where he reached the world championships final before losing to Viktor Axelsen of Denmark after playing six games. He then returned to China for the National Games, playing for Beijing to win the team championship in five games before making it a double with his success in the singles.
