Jacqueline Siu secures silver medal for Hong Kong in dressage as National Games campaign gathers momentum
Siu and her horse, Jockey Club Fuerst on Tour, impress in Tianjin
The only entry from Hong Kong in the discipline, Siu went into the final guaranteed a third-place finish after scoring 69.692 points during the intermediate round at the Metropolitan Polo Club. But she and her horse, Jockey Club Fuerst on Tour, were able to improve their freestyle final score to 70.125.
Siu, 34, has been a regular member of the equestrian team, representing Hong Kong at different international events, including three consecutive Asian Games from 2006 but narrowly missed out a medal at the Incheon Asian Games in 2014 with a fourth-place finish.
With the support of the Jockey Club, Hong Kong sent its largest ever equestrian team to Tianjin, competing in all three disciplines for the first time with eight riders, who are supported by an 11-strong team of the Club’s vets, farriers and other support staff.
