Wofoo Tai Po's hopes of surviving in the BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League were dealt a hammer blow on Sunday after they lost to visitors I-Sky Yuen Long 2-0.

Goals from Reinaldo Peres and Wellingsson de Souza in each half settled the issue as Yuen Long moved away from the relegation zone on 14 points, while Tai Po, who have yet to claim full points this season, sit at the bottom of the table.

Even if we manage to stay in the Premier League this season, what about next season? We will probably face the same situation

They have collected only three points from three draws and have only three league matches to turn their hopes around. Tai Po must beat Wong Tai Sin, who are on eight points, in their next match if they want to have any chance of staying in the top flight.

Tai Po club secretary, Chan Ping, refused to panic, saying the result was not unexpected since district teams do not receive adequate financial backing.

"Even if we manage to stay in the Premier League this season, what about next season?

"We will probably face the same situation," he said.
