Four years ago in Guangzhou, Ju Yingzhi was just another one of the boys in Hong Kong's squad - but now "Big Brother Zhi" is a senior figure aiming to inspire the team into the knockout stage.

Hong Kong achieved that feat in 2010 and can repeat it with a draw or better in their final group match against Bangladesh on Monday.

Now 27, midfield playmaker Ju is one of the three overage players in the squad and the Sun Pegasus star admits he feels he has the responsibility to help lead the rest.

The players are all ready and I don't think we will have any big problems of making it to the next round

"The players are all ready and I don't think we will have any big problems of making it to the next round," said Ju. "We have been preparing for this moment and are confident we'll deliver to make it happen."

"We are a team that blends in well with the three overage players, but I know as the 'Big Brother' [his nickname in the squad], I have to help them, giving them more instructions on the field."

Hong Kong beat Bangladesh 4-1 in Guangzhou, with Ju scoring, but he admits: "The team is always bigger than individuals and our goal is very clear. I would love to score against them again but it is the final result that matters most."

Coach Kim Pan-gon has told his players to get the ball to Ju as much as possible. "He is a talented midfielder who has the vision to control the pace in attack and we badly need him if we want to win," said the coach.
