Aramco Team Series: Chinese star Janet Lin to headline Hong Kong stop on team tournament
- There are 28 teams competing in the Aramco Team Series stop in Hong Kong, and 84 golfers taking part in a three-day individual stroke play competition
- “Having one of the world’s best golfers, Lin Xiyu, competing – Hong Kong adds immense excitement and prestige to the event,” HKGC’s captain says
One of China’s biggest golfing stars will be in Hong Kong in October for the Aramco Team Series event, as elite women’s golf returns to the city for the first time since 2019.
Janet Lin Xiyu, ranked 13th in the world, will headline the fourth stop in this year’s ATS, which has already seen the likes of Nelly Korda, Charley Hull and Nicole Garcia play in events in Singapore, Florida and London.
Lin has established herself as one of the most consistent players in women’s golf in recent times, securing seven top-five finishes since 2022. The 27-year-old also broke into the top 10 of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings for the first time in her career in June after her impressive finish at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
“I am delighted and can’t wait to be able to compete in the first Aramco Team Series in Hong Kong,” Lin said. “It is a significant moment for women’s golf in the region, and I am glad to be part of it. I look forward to competing alongside some of the best professional and amateur golfers and putting on a show for the fans.”
The ATS stop in Hong Kong will see 28 teams of four – three professionals and one amateur – battle it out across two days at Hong Kong Golf Club to capture the team title and a slice of the US$1 million prize fund.
There will also be a three-day individual stroke play competition that will see the stellar 84-player field come up against one another to challenge for the individual title along with valuable Race to Costa del Sol and Rolex World Ranking points.
