Aramco Team Series: Korda and Maguire join stellar field in London for third stop of season
- World No 2 Nelly Korda previously won the ATS event in Spain last year as part of impressive season
- Maguire will line-up alongside the likes of Bronte Law, Charley Hull and Georgie Law for next month’s tournament
While Hong Kong argues about building houses on the only golf course in the city capable of staging elite events, two of the women’s games biggest stars have signed up to play in the Aramco Team Series stop in London
Nelly Korda and Leona Maguire will be part of the field at the Centurion Club next month, in the third ATS tournament of the season. The fourth edition of the series, which is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, will take place in Hong Kong in October.
Korda, currently ranked second in the world, has carried her impressive form from 2022 into the new year, securing six top-10 finishes out of just eight starts. Most notably, the Olympic champion was third at the Chevron Championship, the first major of the year.
The 24-year-old has been in the world’s top five since 2019, and won the ATS event in Spain last season.
“I’ve had great performances in the past three Aramco Team Series events I’ve played in, so I hope to deliver a top performance for the fans in London and capture my second ATS title,” Korda said.
Ireland’s Maguire, meanwhile, will join an already impressivline-upup featuring some of Britain’s best, such as world No 9 Georgia Hall, world No 23 Charley Hull and defending champion Bronte Law.
