Offering a US$2 million purse, as opposed to the US$1 million up for grabs at last week’s World City Championship, the prestigious tournament will be also played at Hong Kong Golf Club.

The last of three high-profile events to be held at the Fanling course this year, with the Aramco Team Series taking place in early October, the Open will be played from November 9 to 12.

Wade Ormsby, who sits second in the International Series money list, courtesy of his victory at the Thailand event just three weeks ago, was the last player to win the Hong Kong Open, in January of 2020, shortly before the coronavirus pandemic brought the season to a premature conclusion. The Australian also claimed the event in 2017.

“To have a crack around a course I’ve had success at is fantastic. I’m really looking forward to it,” the 42-year-old said.
