Ryder Cup star Patrick Reed predicts ‘fireworks’ when he and Team Europe big guns return to the Hong Kong Open
Tommy Fleetwood and Sergio Garcia will also grace Fanling’s fairways as the tournament turns 60 in November
“Depending on what happens at the Ryder Cup, those guys might want revenge or I might want revenge,” Reed said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun and hopefully we can give you a bunch of fireworks while we are there.”
American Reed, often in the spotlight regarding his turbulent personal life, famously took down Rory McIlroy on the final day as the USA defeated Europe in the 2016 Ryder Cup and he will be one of the stars when the rivals resume hostilities later this month.
“It’s such an awesome event and the environment is ... it’s not normal,” Reed said. “You go to golf and it’s supposed to be a quiet, laid-back game, so to be able to go to an event that – growing up in the States and watching college football, NFL or Major League Baseball – you feel like you are in that type of an arena.”
