All of which should tell you that it’s been another packed weekend of sport around the world, and with a finite amount of space, those just didn’t make the cut.

Anyway, it’s Monday, and we’ve all got a busy week ahead, so here’s some of what happened while you were sleeping.

Battle of the big boys

Where do you start with this one? Erling Haaland’s 100th goal in 105 appearances, Arsenal ending another game with 10 men, a Manchester City equaliser in the eighth minute of stoppage time, Rodri’s injury, or the fact Pep Guardiola’s side have not lost at home since November 2022.

Safe to say the English Premier League game of the weekend more than lived up to expectations, and the 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium hints at a title race that could go the distance once more.

“Still we have this passion, this fire inside ourselves,” Guardiola said after John Stones rescued a point, which put City top, a point ahead of Liverpool and Aston Villa, and two clear of Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said it was “unbelievable what we have done”, but added that his players were “really gutted” after seeing victory snatched away so late.

Trossard sees red

An incensed Arteta would not be drawn on his feelings regarding the dismissal of Leandro Trossard in first-half stoppage time.
