With just 90 minutes of the entire season remaining, we still don’t know where the English Premier League title will go.
Leaders Manchester City welcome West Ham, while Arsenal, two points behind, host Everton.
Both have sealed past Premier League titles with victories over Sunday’s opponents. A final-day 2-0 victory over West Ham saw City pip Liverpool to the post in 2014, while in 1998, Arsene Wenger became the first foreign manager to win the English top flight with Arsenal’s 4-0 demolition of Everton.
This will be the 10th time the Premier League title race will be decided on the final day, so let’s take a look back.
Blackburn Rovers v Manchester United, 1995

Rovers were seeking their first title since 1914, while United were chasing three in a row.
Two points clear, Blackburn travelled to Liverpool, while the Red Devils were at West Ham.
Liverpool came from a goal down to score a late winner on the day, but it did not matter because United could only draw to spark wild celebrations at Anfield.
Manchester United v Newcastle United, 1996

This was the culmination of a chase that saw United’s young guns claw back a 12-point deficit to overtake Newcastle’s entertainers.
A shocking run of form in the new year saw the Magpies, managed by Kevin Keegan, win just twice in eight matches in February and April, while their rivals dropped just two points in that same period.
Alex Ferguson’s side swept Middlesbrough aside, while Newcastle laboured to a draw on the final day to finish four points adrift.
Manchester United v Arsenal, 1999

A defeat for the reigning champions at Leeds in the penultimate match of the campaign meant United could wrap it up against Blackburn – but they drew.
So a point separated the two sides on the final day and United welcomed Arsenal’s arch-rivals, Tottenham, who took an early lead.
But United hit back to win with goals from David Beckham and Andy Cole, so Arsenal’s win over Aston Villa was in vain.
Manchester United v Chelsea, 2008

Chelsea, who had sacked Jose Mourinho midseason and replaced him with Avram Grant, beat United at Stamford Bridge to move level on points with two matches remaining.
After each won their next match, it all came down to match day 38.
United won 2-0 at Wigan, and a late equaliser for Bolton in west London meant United were champions by two points.
Chelsea v Manchester United, 2010

United said goodbye to Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez with Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen arriving in their place. Meanwhile, Chelsea had hired two-time Champions League-winning manager Carlo Ancelotti.
In early April, the Blues won a controversial clash at Old Trafford to take pole position with five matches remaining.
On the final day, United hosted Stoke as Chelsea welcomed Wigan, and the Blues hit eight to emphatically win the title by a point.
Manchester City v Manchester United, 2012

The most dramatic of all final days.
A late-season collapse by United, culminating in derby defeat at the Etihad, meant City went into the final day ahead on goal difference.
But 92 minutes into their final match of the campaign, and with United having won, they found themselves 2-1 down to Queens Park Rangers. Yet an Edin Dzeko equaliser was swiftly followed by that goal from Sergio Aguero.
United’s players and fans were on the pitch at Sunderland ready to celebrate when the home fans’ cheers transmitted the devastating message.
Manchester City v Liverpool, 2014

The drama here was done earlier. Liverpool beat City to go top, but then lost at home to Chelsea after Steven Gerrard’s slip, and squandered a 3-0 lead to draw at Crystal Palace.
City hosted West Ham on the final day, while Liverpool were at home to Newcastle.
Both sides won and City were Premier League champions for a second time.
Manchester City v Liverpool, 2019

The unstoppable force against the immovable object.
City, on 95 points, were on a 13-match winning streak with Liverpool, a point behind, having won their last eight.
Leaders City travelled to Brighton while Liverpool hosted Wolves and, again, both sides extended their runs, meaning City defended their crown.
Manchester City v Liverpool, 2022

No side leading on the final day had ever failed to win the title, but Pep Guardiola’s side once again came mightily close here.
Trailing Villa 1-0 at home, they conceded a second on 69 minutes. Meanwhile, Liverpool were being held 1-1 against Wolves.
City pulled one back with 14 minutes left and, incredibly, were ahead within five minutes as two Ilkay Gundogan goals sandwiched a Rodri strike to clinch the title by a point.
