Cricket: Hong Kong to host Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 in June

  • Hosts set to face India A, Pakistan A, and Thailand A in group games at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground

Hong Kong will host next month’s Women’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.

The Asian Cricket Council tournament will play out over June 10-21, pitting national “A” teams from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand against national teams from Hong Kong, Malaysia and the UAE compete across two groups.

The top 2 teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, which will be held on June 19, with the final two days later.

“The Asian Cricket Council’s vision for cricket in the region includes creating equal opportunities for women to showcase their talent and take the sport to new heights,” ACC president Jay Shah said.

“The Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 in Hong Kong is a great platform for young women cricketers to compete and grow, and we are committed to developing women’s cricket in Asia to ensure a bright future for the sport.”

Group A is made up of Hong Kong, India A, Pakistan A and Thailand A while Group B comprises Bangladesh A, Malaysia, Sri Lanka A and UAE.
