Siobhan Haughey, Pan Zhanle, Zhang Yufei confirmed for star-studded swimming World Cup

Qin Haiyang, Kaylee McKeown, Leon Marchand also set to swim in three-part event in Shanghai, Incheon and Singapore

Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey and three of China’s finest will be among a host of Olympic champions and world-record holders competing in the three-leg World Aquatics Swimming World Cup this month.

Pan Zhanle, Qin Haiyang and Zhang Yufei of China will be joined by France’s Leon Marchand in the short-course series, to be staged in Shanghai on October 18 to 20, Incheon from October 24 to 26 and Singapore on October 31 to November 2.

Marchand, who this year won four golds at his home Olympics in Paris, leads a men’s field that besides Pan and Qin also includes Thomas Ceccon, Chad Le Clos and Nicolo Martinenghi.

Another multiple Paris gold medallist, Kaylee McKeown of Australia, headlines a star-studded women’s line-up alongside Kate Douglass of the United States, Zhang, who won six medals in the French capital, and Haughey, who won a pair of Paris bronzes to add to her two silvers from the previous Games in Tokyo.

Defending overall women’s champion McKeown will head into the World Cup having underlined her short-course speed when she broke the women’s 100 metres backstroke world record at Australia’s 25m national championships two weeks ago.
