Asian Games 2023: Hong Kong have more medals than India, women reach squash final, golfer Taichi Kho on top

A day after the round of his life, Taichi Kho was at it again on Friday, shooting a 12-under-par round of 60 on the second day of the Asian Games golf tournament.

Elsewhere, the women’s squash team reached the final of their event, while the men won bronze after losing their semi-final. There has also been another fencing medal, via the men’s épée team.

Hong Kong athletes were involved in 18 sports on Friday.

Hong Kong chase Jakarta haul

Friday’s fencing and squash medals took Hong Kong’s total tally for the Games to 34, comprising five gold, 12 silver and 17 bronze. They moved two medals ahead of India overall, although India had three more golds.

Hong Kong’s best Asian Games haul ever was 46 medals, in Jakarta in 2018: eight golds, 18 silver, 20 bronze.
