The US Open champion has been invited to the end of season event in Guadalajara with her grand slam winning partner Samantha Stosur but the pair have not played together since victory in New York.

After partnering with India’s Sania Mirza, with whom she won the Ostrava Open last month, Zhang has now partnered with Japan’s Eri Hozumi in the Canary Islands.

Zhang and Hozumi moved on to the second round of the WTA event in Tenerife with a 6-4, 6-3 win over India’s Ankita Raina and Rosalie van der Hoek of the Netherlands.
