China international Jiang Zhipeng responded to accusations about his marriage, saying the claims were one-sided and had damaged not only his reputation as a professional but also his family.

The defender, who plays for Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese Super League, said his relationship with ex-wife Zhang Ziyue ended in December after the court issued them a divorce after he filed the request in June 2014.

In his post Jiang said there was no such “third” person involved in the end of their relationship and that it was problems between he and Zhang that led to the end of their relationship.

He added that the court had made a decision on the allocation of the couple’s income and property.

He also thanked Zhang for staying with him through the years and wished her well for the future.
