Tyson Fury was so grateful for the work his cut man did in keeping his fight against Otto Wallin going that he gave him a cash bonus.

The Briton was in danger of seeing last weekend’s Las Vegas bout against the Swede called off by the doctor after suffering a nasty cut above his right eyelid in the second round.

Given the cut was opened up by a punch from Wallin, the unheralded 28-year-old would have walked away with a TKO victory – and Fury’s lineal heavyweight title.

“He gave me a bonus, that’s for sure,” Jorge Capetillo told TMZ Sports. “I saw him on Sunday morning at his house. I went to say ‘Hi’, to see how he was doing. He was so grateful, so happy. He’s a great human being. Yeah, he took care of me with a little bonus.”

Capetillo dutifully smothered the cut with vaseline in between rounds, with Wallin’s coach Joey Gamache instructing his fighter to target the deep wound.
