It’s almost over now. Just one final push.
We may be heading into the final day, but that does not mean the end of the action.
There are still plenty of medals to hand out as we wind down and look towards Los Angeles 2028.
The battle for supremacy rumbles on as China and the United States battle it out to top the gold medal leaderboard in Paris.
So, for one final time, here’s what to look forward to today with all times – as always, in HKT.

Hongkonger alert
There is still one remaining athlete representing Hong Kong.
Ceci Lee Sze-wing will compete in her second event at the Paris Olympics: the women’s omnium, which kicks off at 5pm.
After completing the women’s Olympic road race last Sunday, where several others failed, she cited inspiration from Vivian Kong’s gold medal to summon the energy to go on.
This time, however, it will be far shorter than 158 kilometres.
The omnium is Lee’s stronger event of the two and she is hoping for a top-12 finish.
Women’s marathon
After Ethiopia’s Tamirat Tola won the men’s event yesterday, it’s time for the women.
Kenya’s Peres Jepchirchir is looking to defend the gold medal she won in Tokyo.
There will be three representatives from China in on the action: Zhang Deshun, Li Bai and Xia Yuyu.
The run starts at 2pm.

Golden No 40?
China’s Li Wenwen is among the athletes vying for gold in the women’s +81kg.
She is the defending Olympic gold medallist and a two-time world champion.
And victory for the 24-year-old could be definitive as, going into the final day, China top the gold medal leaderboard with 39.

Don’t get court out
However, the United States have 38 gold medals and will fancy their chances of adding another in the women’s basketball.
As with the men’s side, this is a discipline the US have totally dominated – except even more so.
Only once since 1980 have the US failed to win gold.
It’s a repeat of the men’s final, with hosts France looking to stop them. It kicks off at 9.30pm with the bronze medal match between Belgium and Australia at 5.30pm.

Closing ceremony
That’s all, folks.
Well, it will be once the closing ceremony ends and the Olympic flag is handed over to LA to prepare for the 2028 Games.
There was some backlash to the opening ceremony, with various apologies issued.
It is still unclear exactly how the closing ceremony will play out, with rumours even Tom Cruise may even take part.
The ceremony starts at 3am on Monday.
