The 103-97 victory on Thursday gave the three-year-old franchise an unbeatable 4-1 lead and their maiden title.

It was Lin’s second career title, after winning the NBA Finals with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, but it was his first with his younger brother Joseph, who scored a team-high 17 points alongside teammate and finals MVP Lee Kai-yan.

Lin said he would “never forget” this title.

The NBA veteran, who missed the Kings’ crucial Game 4 win at home on Monday because of a foot injury, was reinserted into the line-up and logged 31 minutes off the bench, chipping in 15 points to go with seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

“I had torn my meniscus [cartilage] and that was why I missed the last game,” said Lin, who has spent nine seasons across eight teams. “I need to go back [to the United States] for treatment.
