NBA free agent Jeremy Lin is returning to China to play for the Beijing Ducks next season, a move he confirmed on social media.
“Beijing Shougang, I’m back!” the 32-year old told fans in Chinese on Weibo. Shougang are the owners of the Chinese Basketball Association’s Ducks. He also told fans that “we will meet soon”.
Lin, who had attempted to make an NBA comeback this season after spending the 2019-20 season in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Ducks, penned a lengthier message on his Instagram account.
“No regrets about the past, excited for the future. Still got a lot of basketball left in me and we’ll see where this road goes. Beijing Ducks, excited to be back this upcoming season! Thank you all for going on this journey with me,” he wrote.

Despite impressing in the NBA G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors, Lin was not offered a contract by an NBA team.
That led to speculation as to what his future held, including the possibility of him retiring from basketball after a cryptic message following the NBA snub.

Former “Linsanity” star Lin later clarified that while the NBA had turned its back on him, he had not turned his back on basketball.
Reports from China suggested that he had been in contact with several CBA teams ahead of the new season, but Lin will return to the Ducks after taking them to the play-offs last year. He signed for the Beijing side after leaving the Toronto Raptors in 2o19, where he won the NBA championship.
Lin had told Ducks fans that he would be back when he left to pursue his dream of an NBA return and he has been as good as his word.
