“I genuinely believe the best is yet to come,” Jeremy Lin said ahead of his possible NBA return this season.
“I’ve had so many of my amazing opportunities were taken away through extenuating circumstances. But right now I still have more opportunities,” Lin said in a documentary to mark the release of his Xtep One signature shoes earlier this month.
Lin, who signed with the Chinese sports brand last August ahead of moving to the Beijing Ducks, is hoping to return to the NBA for the upcoming season which begins on December 22.
“I still have tomorrow and I still have this next season and my goal is to prepare and come out and just dominate and you know I’m coming in with this ‘nothing will stop me’ mentality.”


“I’m chasing this. I want to be the best version of myself as a basketball player. And as a human. I want to be the best version of myself.”
Lin was pictured working out with several Golden State Warriors players at San Francisco University this week, fuelling rumours that he may be in line to return to his first NBA team.

The 32-year-old has targeted a return to the league after a season in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Ducks. He has been back in his native California since returning from China.
Lin left for China after receiving no offers in free agency after winning the 2019 NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors.
This season’s free agency opens on November 20, following the 2020 NBA Draft.

Lin has been posting on social media of his preparations for a possible return to the league where he spent nine years across eight teams before leaving for the CBA.
He described himself as a “Triple Threat” on Instagram on Friday, referring to his body, mind and spirit.
“1. BODY: I used to think everything in bball was about the physical. But at the elite level, everyones skills and physical strengths are world-class.

“2. MIND: Midway through my career I began to realise the importance of emotions. Identifying, controlling, harnessing emotions to optimise performance.
“3. SPIRIT: Where I‘ve grown the most recently. Faith is believing without seeing. Faith is taking the first step before God reveals the second. Faith looks irrational to others, is inconvenient in many ways and requires tremendous risk – but it’s the most rewarding way to live.
Lin’s signature shoes were released in two colourways – a blue and white version and a yellow and black version.

The former includes the message “Faith Over Fear” on the inside of the tongue, while the latter – a tribute to Muhammad Ali – includes the message “Sting” in reference to the boxer’s famous “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” quote.
Lin’s post followed on from an earlier post on the platform where he described his three goals for his NBA comeback.

“2. Implement my lower release/more fluid shot into all different scenarios: catch and shoot, off-ball movement, pnr, transition, iso, etc.
“3. Mix in more shiftiness and change-of-pace vs only relying on my pure speed/athleticism
“I’m staying immersed in the present but veryyyy excited for the future.”

Lin’s Xtep One signature shoes sold out in both colourways upon their release, though he has teased upcoming versions on his Instagram.
If he returns to the NBA he will be the only player signed to Xtep, though several other players have contracts with Chinese shoe manufacturers including Anta, Li-Ning and Peak.
