Engelbrecht-Bresges, who is also chairman of the Asian Racing Federation, was first elected to the role in 2021 and is the first IFHA chairman from an Asian racing jurisdiction.

His re-election again highlights the importance of Hong Kong racing to the sport globally, and shines a light on the role the Jockey Club plays in ensuring the city’s ongoing standing as an international hub.

“It is not only recognition of myself but also an acknowledgement of how far the HKJC has come since 1997, to now being recognised as a global leader in horse racing,” said Engelbrecht-Bresges.

“The HKJC connection to the IFHA leadership is not only myself but also Andrew Harding, who is the IFHA’s executive director and oversees its executive office.

“This demonstrates the uniqueness of Hong Kong as an attractive global hub which draws the best talents from across the world to our city to work with our dedicated Hong Kong team.
