The Dragon Boat Festival took place on June 10. It honours the famous Chinese poet, Qu Yuan, who drowned himself after he was accused of treason.
When people learned about his death, they dropped rice dumplings called zongzi into the water to prevent his body from being eaten by fish. Today, this event is celebrated through dragon boat races and eating zongzi.
