Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula volcano has erupted anew, creating a lava-spewing fissure around 3km long and prompting warnings of gas emissions across parts of the peninsula including in the nearby town of Grindavík.

This latest eruption, which began on November 20th, is sending a lava flow towards the famous Blue Lagoon spa tourist attraction and marks the tenth volcanic event in the region in just three years.
