A wedding with a so-called super-fierce group of muscle-bound bridesmaids has trended on social media in China.
The nuptials, held in Wuhan, Hubei province, central China on January 9, featured the bride Shi Fan, who won the Overall Fit Model championship at the IFBB World Fit Model Championships in Lithuania last year.
She is the first person from China to win the title, and is a sports teacher at Hubei University, City Express reported.
A viral video showed her and four bridesmaids displaying their impressive arm and back muscles clad in ceremonial dresses.
“We are champions,” said a smiling Shi in the video.

Two of her bridesmaids have also won gold medals at international bodybuilding competitions, although their names were not revealed in the report.
“All my bridesmaids like doing bodybuilding exercises. We all like exhibiting our stature,” Shi was quoted as saying.
She said her husband, who was not named in the report, is also a fitness enthusiast.
Shi, 30, started her bodybuilding career a decade ago when she worked as a part-time coach at a gym and was introduced to the sport by another coach.
She was enrolled into China’s national team in 2018 after winning the championship at a nationwide contest.
“Body-building requires you to have no shortcomings in your figure. Like athletes in competitive sports, we also need to pursue perfection,” Shi said.
“My good stature brings me confidence, the honorary ‘international master sportsman’ title recognised by the state authority has also changed my fate,” she added.
In 2019, she was hired by Hubei University as a sports teacher.

Fitness lectures given by Shi, such as adding muscle and reducing fat, and dynamic stretching and resistance training, are popular among students who usually snap up seats for her classes in minutes.
“Body-building exercises cannot only make your body stronger, but also enables you to master your body and your life as well,” she told her students.
“At least when you want to lie flat (Chinese slang meaning giving up), you will be a bit hesitant.”
Shi’s bridesmaids attracted a strong reaction on social media.
“They are the healthiest and most beautiful girls,” said one internet user.
“Their boyfriends better not be rebellious, haha,” said another.
