The Post has put together a snapshot list of public figures who have made significant contributions to philanthropy.
Louis Koo
The 53-year-old is one of Hong Kong’s best-known movie icons. His latest film success is the action blockbuster Twilight of the Warriors: Walled in, set in the world of gangsters in Kowloon Walled City.
His charitable contributions have earned him the nickname “Principal Koo” among his mainland fans.
He has donated more than HK$30 million (US$4 million) to build more than 100 schools for the underprivileged students in China.
Koo has also funded 18 clinics, 750 wells and one small-scale water conservancy project.
