A celebrated plus-size model in China has openly shared her transformative journey of overcoming appearance anxiety and now confidently and joyfully pursues her work.
At 29 years old, Gong Zhen, standing 170cm tall and weighing 80kg, has emerged as a prominent figure in the fashion industry. She has been photographed more than 700 times for advertisements aimed at larger-sized women since 2020, as reported by Ziniu News.
In the fashion landscape, plus-size models are typically defined as those who weigh over 70kg.
Gong’s remarkable success underscores the growing acceptance and representation of diverse body types within the industry, inspiring countless others to embrace their unique individuality and beauty.
Before launching her modelling career, Gong, who comes from a wealthy family in eastern China’s Shandong province, said she opened a small restaurant, which had to close because its profit margin was too small to sustain.
