Hong Kong police arrest driver over crash that left 14-year-old cyclist fighting for life
Teen not breathing when taken to Pok Oi Hospital after being knocked unconscious in Kam Tin area of Yuen Long
Hong Kong police have arrested a driver over a crash that left a 14-year-old cyclist fighting for his life.
The force said the 21-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm after his vehicle allegedly slammed into the back of the boy’s bicycle on Friday.
The Post has contacted the Hospital Authority about the boy’s condition. He had been rushed to hospital unconscious and without a pulse.
Emergency personnel were called to Chi Ho Road in the Kam Tin area of Yuen Long on Friday after the car allegedly struck the boy at 4.30pm.
“The unconscious boy had no pulse and was not breathing while being transported to Pok Oi Hospital [in Yuen Long],” a police spokesman said.
He said the teenager was later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital.
