Hong Kong’s Cathay offers Olympic medallists a year of business class or 1 million air miles
- Carrier adds to haul of perks for Cheung Ka-long, Vivian Kong and Siobhan Haughey, with medal winners from Olympics and Paralympics eligible
The latest rewards will add to those already picked up by gold medallist fencers Cheung Ka-long and Vivian Kong Man-wai, as well as dual bronze medallist swimmer Siobhan Haughey.
Flag carrier Cathay Pacific announced the move in a social media post on Thursday night, with the airline noting the miles could be used to pay for tickets, products or other services it provided.
“In celebration of Hong Kong’s Olympic success, we’re proud to offer our winning home athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics a year of unlimited business class travel to any Cathay Pacific destinations, counting from their first trip, or 1 million miles,” the airline said.
“We hope this small gesture can encourage our athletes to continue to embrace challenges and make every move count.”
The medal-winning trio paid for their Cathay business class fares to the Paris Olympics.
