Operation Santa Claus: Morgan Stanley smashes fundraising record for 4th year

The long-time OSC supporter collects HK$5.8 million for this year’s campaign, beating its previous record of HK$5.5 million in 2023

Global financial services firm Morgan Stanley has smashed its own fundraising record for an annual charity drive in Hong Kong for the fourth straight year.

The long-time Operation Santa Claus (OSC) supporter collected HK$5.8 million (US$746,000) for this year’s campaign, beating its previous record of HK$5.5 million in 2023.

The company last year also became the initiative’s top corporate fundraiser for eight years in a row.

OSC is the annual fundraising drive established by the South China Morning Post and public broadcaster RTHK.

“Operation Santa Claus is an excellent platform and does a fantastic job, and Morgan Stanley is proud to have supported it for the last 28 years,” said Gokul Laroia, Morgan Stanley’s CEO of Asia.

The money raised by the company this year brought the total raised for OSC over the years to HK$71.8 million, he added.
