Hong Kong customers with Physical beauty packages can transfer them, new investor says
Contracts in fitness section are still being sorted out and customers will need to wait a few more days, spokeswoman says
Affected customers of the now defunct Physical fitness brand in Hong Kong will be able to transfer any remaining beauty packages, according to its new investor, although some members are worried they will be forced to buy more services or that their existing contracts will not be valid without receipts.
A spokeswoman for the investor, medical beauty chain Perface, also said on Friday that arrangements for contracts in the fitness section, which has now been renamed “Perfit”, were still being sorted out and customers would need to wait a few more days.
“Starting [on Friday], Perface beauty services has invited customers to sign a consent form for the transfer of their remaining services, but the consent form for the Perfit fitness service is not ready yet and may take two more days,” she said.
Gym chain Physical abruptly announced its closure on September 6, leaving hundreds of staff jobless and triggering thousands of complaints from angry customers.
A week after Physical reached an apparent agreement with a new investor, its outlet in Wan Chai reopened under the name “Healthy”, but that branch was renamed again to “Perfit” on October 4, creating uncertainty and causing concern among ex-Physical members who had signed consent forms with Healthy.
Another former Physical branch in Mong Kok’s Hollywood Plaza reopened as Perfit on Thursday morning.
