- Athletes, coaches and staff to travel from Sha Tin to Tamar in open-top buses, will meet fans and city leader John Lee in homecoming extravaganza
Hong Kong’s Olympic delegation is expected to meet thousands of fans in a 90-minute bus parade and inspire young people with speeches and selfies as part of the city’s celebration to hail their sporting stars’ achievements at the Paris Games.
The parade, featuring athletes, coaches, and staff, will set off from the Hong Kong Sports Institute in Sha Tin on Wednesday at 10.15am in two open-top buses.
The buses will pass by Tai Wai station around 10.30am and the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower at about 11am, before heading through the Cross-Harbour Tunnel and on to Queen’s Road Central before reaching the Central Star Ferry Pier at about 11.35am.
The parade will end around 11.45am at Tamar Park, where the athletes will take part in a sharing session with students on their Olympic experiences.
Both the government and sports federation said in replies to the Post that the list of attending athletes had yet to be finalised.
