Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu revealed the city’s delegates would commit to the projects, which have not been identified, at the CEO Conference session of the forum on Tuesday, the first day of the meeting.

Lee said at the airport on Monday as he prepared to fly to Beijing that the agreements were part of an effort to strengthen the city’s role in the international trade strategy.

“Hong Kong is an active participant, contributor and beneficiary in building the functional platform and important points of the Belt and Road Initiative,” Lee explained.

“We also have great conditions to intensify the belt and road developments.”
