A gang of men wielding knives robbed a foreign businessman of HK$400,000 in an attack in a popular Hong Kong shopping district on Saturday night.
The group of four slashed the 61-year-old, who suffered injuries on the head, leg and back, outside Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui at about 11.20pm.
They stole his watch and his bag, which contained cash in both Hong Kong and US dollars. They then jumped into a getaway car, and sped towards Hung Hom, police said.
A large number of police officers were sent to the scene but failed to find the robbers.

The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Yau Ma Tei, by ambulance.
Photographs in local media showed blood spattered across the pavement near the high-rise complex on Nathan Road while shocked tourists looked on.
A spokeswoman for Hong Kong Police said no arrests had been made. She said the suspects, all non-ethnic Chinese, wore hats and masks. Three wore all black, while one wore a white top with black trousers.
The spokeswoman confirmed the victim, surname Fam, was foreign but not a tourist. He remained in hospital on Sunday afternoon, where his condition was reported to be stable.
The area in and around Chungking Mansions, which was originally established as an upmarket residential estate in 1961 but has become a major trading hub, is known for attracting crime.
