Hong Kong doctor given 120 hours of community service for filming upskirt video
Probation officer tells court that doctor from Chinese University of Hong Kong made recording during lecture out of stress
A doctor has been sentenced to community service for taking upskirt footage of a student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong last year.
Sha Tin Court on Monday ordered Cyrus Tse Tak-yin to perform 120 hours of unpaid community work after a probation officer commented the surgeon committed the crime out of stress.
The 47-year-old defendant pleaded guilty earlier this month to unlawful recording of intimate parts after being caught at the Choh-Ming Li Basic Medical Sciences Building on the university’s Sha Tin campus on January 27, 2024.
A prosecution summary said Tse used his mobile phone to film a student’s underwear while giving a lecture that afternoon.
Another student who was attending class in an adjacent room witnessed the act through a glass wall and informed the victim.
The two students confronted Tse after class and found the upskirt video in his mobile phone, but the doctor refused to allow investigators to inspect his device after the case was reported to police.
