Off-duty Hong Kong police officer arrested over upskirt photos tries to grab gun
Post learns scuffle broke out inside station after national security police officer arrested for allegedly taking upskirt photo of woman
An off-duty Hong Kong national security police officer attempted to seize a gun from a colleague inside a station on Wednesday after he was arrested for allegedly taking upskirt photos of a woman, with the suspect and two others injured during the struggle.
The constable, a member of the force’s National Security Department, grappled with two other officers inside Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station as he tried to snatch the gun, the Post learned.
No shots were fired.
The Post also learned the officer had felt remorse and attempted to seize the gun in a bid to take his own life.
A police spokesman said the force received a report in the afternoon that a man had allegedly photographed a woman as she rode an escalator in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The off-duty police officer, aged 39, was then arrested on suspicion of voyeurism and taken back to the police station.
