4 Hong Kong cyclists arrested for ‘reckless riding’ after minibus fracas
Three men and a woman, aged 28 to 45, released on bail and must report back to police later this month
Four Hong Kong cyclists, suspected of stopping a minibus in the middle of the road last month and arguing with the driver, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of “reckless riding”.
Police said they had arrested three men and a woman, aged 28 to 45, for “riding recklessly or negligently” in a public place. The four locals were released on bail and must report back to police later this month.
In the two-minute clip, the minibus is stationary in the middle lane on Tai Po Road and blocking traffic, as four cyclists walk across to approach the driver’s side.
The cyclists and the male minibus driver have a fiery quarrel, which appears to stem from the riders’ complaints over his behaviour. The confrontation escalates when a cyclist, visibly agitated, shouts insults.
