3 arrested in Hong Kong after body of worker left at roadside

Illegal worker found on Cheung Sha Wan Road at 1.25pm and taken to hospital, where he was confirmed dead

A 67-year-old man and his 65-year-old girlfriend have been arrested in Hong Kong for allegedly leaving an illegal worker, who was later confirmed dead in hospital, at the side of a road.

The worker was found on the ground on Cheung Sha Wan Road near Nam Cheong Street in Sham Shui Po at 1.25pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital in Yau Ma Tei, where he was confirmed dead at 2.10pm.

Police later found a light goods van, which the worker was believed to have been in earlier, on nearby Yu Chau Street.

The man and woman, who were found with the van, were arrested for illegal removal of a body.

Another man, 53, from mainland China was later arrested in Yau Ma Tei for the same offence.
