No one was hurt in the incident, but several plants at the entrance of Tsung Tsin Mission of HK On Chung Kindergarten were dotted with burn marks and a broken glass bottle was discovered when staff arrived on Tuesday morning. A door handle was also damaged.

Staff at the kindergarten in Sha Tin’s Shui Chuen O Estate filed a police report, with officers arresting a 64-year-old man on Wednesday following an investigation.

Chief Inspector Lo Wing-kin of the Sha Tin Police District said the suspect, a resident at the estate, was believed to have been frustrated with the noise coming from the kindergarten.

Security footage also shows the suspect throwing a glass bottle with an unknown liquid at the kindergarten gate at around 4am on Tuesday.
