Hong Kong police escort British suspect back to scene of alleged murder of Indonesian helper
Sources say force still treating case as murder despite claims woman jumped to her death after suspect wanted to break off affair
Sources told the Post on Wednesday the investigation into the case, which was still being classified as murder, was ongoing and officers were looking into the circumstances of the death.
Officers escorted the suspect, a 34-year-old British national who holds a Hong Kong identity card, back to Waterfall Bay Park near Wah Fu Estate for about an hour in the afternoon. He was kept in handcuffs and with a chain around his waist.
The Post understands preliminary investigations showed that the man runs a cafe in Central and had an extramarital affair with the helper. Police earlier said the pair knew each other but the man was not the helper’s employer.
The Briton and the Indonesian began their relationship after meeting out on the streets of Central, according to a source.
