Hong Kong motorcyclist dies after crashing into kerb on Bride’s Pool Road black spot

A motorcyclist has died after her bike slammed into a kerb on a northern Hong Kong road that is known for being a notorious black spot for traffic accidents.

Police said on Monday the woman, 47, was riding her motorcycle along Sha Tau Kok-bound Bride’s Pool Road in Tai Po when the crash occurred at around 11.30pm the previous day.

“Upon approaching Wang Chung Stream, the motorcycle reportedly went out of control and rammed into a kerb,” the force said.

The rider suffered chest injuries and was transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin, according to police.

The force said the woman died in hospital at 2.58am.

Officers from the New Territories North traffic unit are following up on the case.
