Denis Kwok Ka-chun on Monday evening admitted the incident a few hours after two clips captured by dashcam circulated online, with an internet user accusing him of leaving the scene after offering an apology to the woman hit by his vehicle.

“I saw an old lady falling on the ground from the rear-view mirror when I drove my car backwards in To Kwa Wan yesterday,” Kwok, 34, said in an Instagram post on Monday.

“I immediately got out to apologise to her and asked if she was hurt, and whether there was any need to report to police or send her to hospital. The old lady said she was fine and there was no need for it and so I left the scene.

“I subsequently reported the case to police and will facilitate the follow-up work. I will also be extra cautious of the road situation and safety while driving in the future.”
