Cheung Yin-fa expressed her grief on mainland Chinese video platform Douyin on Saturday, uploading a five-minute clip that featured images of mourners attending the pink-themed ceremony for Choi at Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai.

“My darling is benevolent and kind-hearted. In the eyes of all relatives and friends, she is a good daughter, a good daughter-in-law, a good wife, and a good mother,” Cheung wrote in the post.

“This sudden, dreadful news has made me experience life and death, and heartbreaking feelings. My gentle and lovable darling left in her prime. This pain of loss will be engraved in my heart indefinitely.”

Choi’s funeral service was held over two days on June 18 and 19, almost four months after the partial remains of the 28-year-old were discovered in a village house in Tai Po. Her ex-husband Alex Kwong Kong-chi, his parents and brother have been charged in connection with the killing.
